The CDL School Bus (S) endorsement is required to drive any school bus designed to carry 16 or more passengers (including the driver) or any vehicle specifically designed to transport students. It is jointly regulated by state DMVs and the FMCSA.
The written knowledge test focuses on: loading and unloading safety procedures (stopping position, use of the stop-arm, confirming students have reached a safe area), mandatory stops at railroad crossings, emergency exit operation, pre-trip safety inspections, and Special Needs student transportation regulations.
These 20 questions cover all of the above key topics. We recommend pairing this practice test with a careful review of Chapter 10 of the official FMCSA CDL Handbook.
